Contributions vs. Donations

While  your contribution for a single class is $30, 10 class pass (does not expire) is only $150, and an unlimited monthly rate is also $150 only.

We won’t be checking to see if you made a contribution.  I let you be the one who lets me keep the studio open. My goal is to see you have a steady dedicated practice. If you are not able to make a contribution, do let me know.  Contribution does not have to be through money only. Money just happens to be an easier way to make a contribution. You can contribute with labor (you can come clean the floor, do the yard work, help students check in, help me edit what I write, help with hooking up computers, a lot can be done).

The contribution, also called an exchange of energy, according to a wise teacher friend of mine, needs to be reciprocal to make it sustainable.  Let’s give it a try. We can do this.

Living in this ever changing world where trust and honor are undervalued, I try to defy the trend by building a community where both of us bring integrity and honor to the mat.  I do this simply by putting your interests before mine, treating you as my family member, and congratulating your progress (even when your practice surpasses mine.) In return, I would expect you to bring your own honor and good intention and be ready for hard work.

Your making a contribution in advance via the Second Side Yoga web page and by keeping track of your attendance will help me focus on teaching your class more efficiently.

Thank you for taking time to read this and let’s make this work.

Yoga mats are like underwear. They may look similar, but you can tell a good one from a not so good one when you try. A good mat elevates your practice. For less than the price of a pair of Nike, you can buy a premium mat that will last years. Do invest in good mats and you will see a big difference.  We have some mats you can borrow of course at no charge.

To that end, we have equipped the studio with premium mats and towels for rental (*$2 and $1 respectively) as well as bottled water for sale ($1). Filtered water is also available for free to those who bring their own water bottles.
